On December 19th, the People’s Committee of Ninh Thuận Province held a scientific conference on the socio-economic development orientation for the province in the period of 2025–2030, with a vision toward 2035. The focus was on promoting the marine economy and urban economy as development drivers. Two experts from S-Group Vietnam, Dr. Hán Minh Cường and M.A. Bạch Ngọc Tùng, had the honor of contributing to the conference with their presentation on: “Identifying key impacts and developing development orientations for Ninh Thuận in the context of restarting the construction of the nuclear power plant.”

S-Group Vietnam was also honored to be a member of the consulting consortium for the Ninh Thuận Provincial Planning period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

The conference was co-chaired by Mr. Trần Quốc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee; Prof. Dr. Trần Đình Thiên, former Director of the Vietnam Institute of Economics; and Dr. Trần Du Lịch, Member of the National Monetary Policy Advisory Council. The event was attended by members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, economic experts, scientists, leaders of departments, localities, and businesses in the province.

In his opening speech, the Chairman of the People’s Committee emphasized the importance of the conference, which aims to gather and seek creative ideas, new values with high scientific and practical significance, major orientations, and new issues to realize the goals, directions, and vision of the Ninh Thuận Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, to promote the province’s economic and social development in a fast and sustainable manner.

Dr. Hán Minh Cường – Chairman of the Board of Directors of S-Group Vietnam contributed a presentation at the scientific conference on economic and social development orientation of Ninh Thuận province.

Presenting on the topic: “Identifying key impacts and building some development orientations for Ninh Thuận in the context of restarting the construction of nuclear power plants,” Dr. Hán Minh Cường made the following proposals:

1/ Integrate nuclear power plant planning into the economic and social development orientation, ensuring harmony between the implementation of two nuclear power plants and the province’s goals for economic development, urban development, agriculture, and tourism.

2/ Appropriate land use planning, rational land allocation not only for the nuclear power plants but also for auxiliary technical infrastructure, safety zones, and environmental protection corridors.

3/ Develop technical and social infrastructure, invest in upgrading the transportation system to connect the nuclear power plants with the seaport, industrial zones, and surrounding areas to ensure the transportation of equipment, fuel, and waste management.

4/ Ensure environmental and community safety: Research and select the best technology for nuclear power in Ninh Thuận; Plan buffer zones and safety areas around the plant to protect local communities…

5/ Training and developing local human resources.

6/ Urban development orientation linked with the project.

In his closing remarks, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the profound, candid, and passionate contributions from scientists, economic experts, and businesses regarding the development of Ninh Thuận province. He particularly valued the observations, analyses, and suggestions that offered breakthrough directions and solutions for the development of Ninh Thuận in the coming period.

The province will carefully consider and select the most feasible and effective ideas to serve leadership and directive work for the implementation of the province’s socio-economic development tasks, as well as for the construction of development strategies for the following years. Based on leveraging the achievements, drawing lessons from the development process, and evaluating analyses, Ninh Thuận will soon realize the recommendations and solutions identified at the conference.
