ACUD Reports Progress on the Provincial Planning Project for Dong Nai.

On the afternoon of October 25, 2023, at the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Võ Tấn Đức, chaired a meeting with members of the provincial planning council, departments, sectors, and localities to hear the consulting unit report on the progress of the provincial planning project for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

As a member of the consulting consortium for the planning project, ACUD Consult participated and contributed to the report at the meeting.

As of October 25, the consulting consortium had essentially completed the provincial planning documents, updated all feedback from the Ministry, sectors, and localities, and was ready to present the documents for review by the Provincial Party Standing Committee. Specifically, the consulting unit had received 31 feedback letters, with 18 units agreeing to approve the phase 2 completion.

At the meeting, there were 13 comments from members of the provincial planning council, departments, sectors, and localities. The feedback mainly focused on issues related to population size and land allocation plans.

In his concluding remarks, Acting Chairman Mr. Võ Tấn Đức emphasized that the provincial planning documents must be of high quality and completed on time so that after the Prime Minister approves the planning project, the province will announce, implement it, and call for investment.

Regarding the feedback during the meeting, the Department of Planning and Investment will collaborate with the consulting unit to incorporate the suggestions and finalize the provincial planning proposal and the draft report to present to the Provincial Party Standing Committee. It is expected to seek input from the Provincial Party Standing Committee between October 30 and November 5, 2023. Therefore, these documents must be completed by October 27, 2023.

According to the Acting Chairman, there are still many steps to complete the procedural process, so the provincial People’s Committee assigns the Department of Planning and Investment as the focal point to lead and coordinate with the consulting unit to finalize the contents in full, with quality and in compliance with the process. The departments, sectors, and localities are responsible for the data they provide.
