The People’s Committee of Can Tho City has recently issued a decision approving the partial adjustment of the 1/2000 scale zoning plan for Vinh Thanh Industrial Park (Phase 1), Can Tho City. ACUD Consult, a member company of S-Group Vietnam, is honored to be the project’s design consulting unit.
At the time of project implementation, key infrastructure projects in the city, such as the Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang Expressway, the Can Tho – Ca Mau Expressway, and the Western Ring Road of the city, were being simultaneously developed. This has led to difficulties in sourcing construction sand material in Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta region, which has not been sufficient to meet the filling demands for the Vinh Thanh Industrial Park (Phase 1). Therefore, VSIP Can Tho Joint Stock Company has conducted research and proposed solutions for the project’s technical infrastructure, including land leveling and stormwater drainage, to align with development requirements.
The partial adjustment of the zoning plan is necessary to minimize the demand for sand material, conserve resources, reduce environmental impact, and adapt to the current context. It is in line with the goal of accelerating project progress, promoting sustainable economic and social development, and serving community benefits in accordance with current regulations.
Vinh Thanh Industrial Park – VSIP Can Tho, which is planned with a total area of 900 hectares located in Vinh Trinh Commune, Vinh Thanh District, will create 100,000 jobs upon completion and attract USD 3.5 billion in investment.
VSIP Can Tho is planned to be developed according to the model of a smart and sustainable industrial park. The goal of VSIP Can Tho is to become a major food processing and distribution center in the southern region, establishing a “from center to port” logistics network and supporting infrastructure to best serve the supply chain needs of investors. During the launch ceremony, VSIP signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with 12 investors for land leasing and business cooperation.
Phase 1 covers an area of 293.7 hectares and is expected to create jobs for 20,000 to 30,000 workers. The project is strategically located at the intersection of key highways in the Mekong Delta, bordering three provinces: Dong Thap, An Giang, and Hau Giang. It offers easy connectivity to the port system, airports, and utility services in the city center.
