On September 29, 2024, the volunteer team from S-Group Vietnam, on behalf of the company’s employees and the company’s trade union, donated aid to the residents of Phan Thanh and Vũ Nông communes, Nguyên Bình district, Cao Bằng province.
Nguyên Bình is a remote mountainous district, located 40 km west of Cao Bằng city, with many living difficulties and a high poverty rate. Typhoon No. 3 recently caused significant damage to the northern mountainous provinces, with Cao Bằng being heavily affected, especially in Nguyên Bình district.
According to statistics, the typhoon in Nguyên Bình district resulted in 54 deaths, 2 missing persons, 18 injured, 30 houses completely destroyed, and 293 houses at high risk of landslides, requiring urgent evacuation. Hundreds of families in the area have lost their homes and are in dire need of essential supplies.
With a strong sense of community responsibility and a commitment to supporting areas affected by natural disasters, S-Group Vietnam has recently completed a charitable program to assist with the aftermath of Typhoon No. 3 in Cao Bằng province.
The donation event was attended by Mrs. Hà Thị Huyên – Secretary of the Party Committee of Vũ Nông commune; Mrs. Dương Thị Sành – Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vũ Nông commune, along with representatives from the Youth Union and the Women’s Union of the commune. From S-Group Vietnam, Mrs. Trần Thị Thu Hà – Head of the S-Group Project Development Department; Mr. Nguyễn Việt Tiến – Chairman of the S-Group Trade Union; and staff members from various member companies of the Group were also present.
Accordingly, the S-Group volunteer team donated 10 million VND to the People’s Committee of Phan Thanh Commune to help the commune and its people recover from the disaster. At the same time, the team collaborated with the local authorities of Vũ Nông Commune to directly assist the 37 most severely affected households. The donation packages included 1 million VND in cash, along with rice and other essential items, to help the commune and its people quickly stabilize their lives and rebuild their homes and infrastructure.
Not only is it material support, but the program also serves as an opportunity for S-Group to spread love and share the losses with the local people. A representative of S-Group shared: “We hope that the small contributions of the team will provide additional motivation for the people of Vũ Nông Commune to be more resilient in their journey to overcome difficulties, quickly recover from the aftermath of Typhoon No. 3, stabilize their lives, and build a better future.”
